The University High School Theatre program returns home after performing at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the Illinois High School Theatre Festival.
And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank is a unique retelling of the Holocaust: a multimedia play combining video interviews with Holocaust survivors and live actors portraying the events of World War II. Follow Ed Silverberg, Eva Schloss, and their families as they recall the events before and after being held in the Auschwitz concentration camp. As a play which is part remembrance and part oral history, part livingnewspaper and part commentary, the show is a unique theatrical experience showcasing a time in our world’s history which cannot be forgotten.
Our home performances will consist of the timed load-in, performance, and talkback from the actors and crew to discuss the production process, travel of the show, and how the text remains meaningful in their lives.
